The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) has been confirmed as the venue for the World Planning Schools Congress in 2011.

The Centre is situated in the heart of the beautiful city of Perth within an easy walking distance of the major hotels, businesses, restaurants and retail districts and offers a range of transport options.

With its advanced technical facilities and communication infrastructure as well as first class catering and service, the PCEC meets all the requirements needed for an enjoyable and productive working environment and is undoubtedly an ideal host venue for the Congress. Child Care

Please note that no official arrangements have been made for child care during the Congress. Please check with the hotel you are staying at who may be able to assist you further with babysitting services during your stay.


The average maximum temperature in July is 18ºC and the average minimum temperature is 8ºC.

All communication with registered delegates will be by email wherever an email address is provided, or by fax. If you register and do not receive a confirmation either by email or fax within 5 working days please contact the Congress Secretariat EECW by phone on (08) 9389 1488 or email


Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel, medical or life insurance prior to coming to the Congress.

The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Congress, or through cancellation of the Congress itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. Neither the Congress Secretariat nor the Organising Committee will take any responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline in regard to this matter.


All tea breaks and lunches will be served amongst the exhibition. We recognise that some delegates may have special dietary requirements. Please advise the Congress Secretariat via the registration form or in writing should you require alternative arrangements be made on your behalf.

Please Note: Dietary requirements received less than 72 hours prior to the event cannot be guaranteed. Kosher meals may be available, however please note this will be at an additional cost. 


Parking within the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre car park is open to the public and spaces are limited by 7.30am. If you do not wish to pre book parking, all day parking up to 6pm for a maximum of 10 hours is available. If pre booked parking tickets have not been ordered, we encourage delegates to arrive early each day of the Congress to avoid any potential parking problems that may be encountered. The Congress has a limited opportunity to reserve parking bays for local delegates. Reserved Bays can be booked via the registration form. Please note that this price may be subject to change, delegates reserving bays will be notified should there be variations to the charge. For further information on parking click here
